I like to blog some of our trips. Other travels are mixed in. See below.

Friends in Yuma, AZ, and Gallup, NM, then beauty in Bryce & Zion National Parks

Once we were both retired, we took off with our little trailer. Visits with friends in Yuma, AZ, and Gallup, NM, then Bryce and Zion National Parks. Beautiful!

Alaska

Randy and I flew to Anchorage, rented a truck, and took a road trip in Alaska. It was a trip of a lifetime. Beauty, beauty, beauty, everywhere you look. When I came home, I told a friend I could die happy—my relationships with God and my loved ones are good, I love them and know they love me, and—Bonus!—I got to go to Alaska!

Paris

When good Americans turn 60, they go to Paris. “When good Americans die, they go to Paris.” -- Oscar Wilde.

"Good" is debatable and 60 does NOT equate to dying, but we 4 American women went to Paris in the year we all turned 60. Incroyable!

Glacier National Park, Mackinac

First we went to Michigan, visited family, picked up our little trailer, explored Mackinac Island, then on to Glacier National Park. Such awe-making scenery. Going-to-the-Sun Road really does feel like you’re climbing to the heavens.

Olympic National Park, Crater Lake

We took a road trip through the Northwest United States. I had heard a podcast about silence—how it is disappearing, how hard it is to find any places on earth where you only hear sounds of nature, no man-made sounds. One of those rare places is the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park. Crater Lake was beautiful, too. And we had to go to Powell’s Bookstore, of course! Visited family, too. Lovely.
