Wouldn’t it be nice?

Saint Paul Writing His Epistles, by Valentin de Boulogne or Nicolas Tournier (c. 16th century, Blaffer Foundation Collection, Houston, TX).

When I go to a funeral, I come home thinking about what I think and hope people will say about me when I die. I remember in particular the funeral of our neighbor several years ago. She had worked many years as an administrative assistant at a private grade school. Person after person came up and told stories of her kindness, things she had done or said that no one would be likely to ever hear about. I thought, wouldn't it be nice if people would tell stories like that about me?

Today I read Ephesians 1. Verses 15 and 16 say:

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.

If Paul wrote a letter to our church, wouldn't it be nice if he would say, "I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people."
