Blessed be the peacemakers.

Lk 6 27-38.jpg

I heard a speaker today, Osheta Moore, on the Evolving Faith podcast, tell a story of her son's high school coach calling him the N-word. Osheta, of course, wanted to go into her mother-mode and go after the man with hate. She remembered shalom, though, and did something she was telling us all to do as a way to truly be a peacemaker, as Jesus calls us. *** She told a different story. *** She first wrote a story of the coach being God's beloved, that when he woke up that morning, God was delighted, that when God looked at that coach he saw Jesus. Then she wrote a back story, of this man growing up and becoming a husband and father who loves his wife and children. How hard it is to love our enemies, to love those who we can't stand. "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."
