Reading, Planning, and Daydreaming - With Maps
I opened this Rick Steves book on Paris today, thinking I'll start reading up in preparation. I'm also reading The Most Beautiful Walk in the World by John Baxter, recommended by Barb. Fun read.
When I saw this page with the map, it made me smile. I'm totally directionally dyslexic, and maps really don't help at all - they only confuse me more - but I love maps like this - the kind that look hand-drawn and have little pictures.
As I looked at it, I started thinking about why these maps make me happy. I wonder if it's because they remind me of the Tolkien books I read many times as I was growing up. Those always have maps, too.

I like the map in The Hobbit best but I couldn't find it at the moment.
Now on to more reading, planning and daydreaming.
