It started...
For me, it started on Facebook (don't they say, "If it's not on Facebook, it didn't happen"?). I posted something about France and Carol started a conversation about my being included in the trip to France that she, Barb, Susan and one other were planning. The "one other" was not a sure thing, and once it turned out there was a free slot, I was in! Paris, here I come!
Barb put me in touch with the travel agent they're working with and the reservations were made. Paris for about 6 days -- in a VRBO I found and we all agreed upon -- and then a river cruise.
I only hope it looks as good as the pictures. I know for sure it'll be a wonderful trip!

“Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living, there is no place like home.”
― Henry Van Dyke
“We'll always have Paris.”
― Howard Koch
“I guess it goes to show that you just never know where life will take you. You search for answers. You wonder what it all means. You stumble, and you soar. And, if you’re lucky, you make it to Paris for a while.”
― Amy Thomas, Paris, My Sweet: A Year in the City of Light
“Paris was all so... Parisian. I was captivated by the wonderful wrongness of it all - the unfamiliar fonts, the brand names in the supermarket, the dimensions of the bricks and paving stones. Children, really quite small children, speaking fluent French!”
― David Nicholls, Us
“I love Paris in the summer, when it sizzles.”
― Cole Porter
“The great correspondent of the seventeenth century Madame de Sevigne counseled, "Take chocolate in order that even the most tireome company seem acceptable to you," which is also sound advice today!”
― Barrie Kerper, Paris: The Collected Traveler
