Today we had a guest minister who preached on Romans 9. In verse 8 it says, "...it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring." I like the phrase "children of the promise." That'd be a good title for a book or a song. Besides liking the fact that this is about me - not a child by physical descent - it also made me think of the rainbow, a symbol of God's promise.
